Lubricants

Lubricant viscosity properties are variable at different environment temperatures. The environment temperature around lubrication lines must be concidered for choosing the correct viscosity option. Lubricant properties should be appropriate to environmental conditions and temperatures. Changing NLGI classes for grease and ISO viscosity grade for oil at different temperatures is important for correct lubrication. High temperature resistant lubricants should be used in some cases if neccesary.

LUBRICANT TYPE - GREASE

NLGI classes that can be used with ALLFETT electrical grease pumps are described below. Because of the flow characteristics of grease the NLGI class range should be changed at different weather conditions and also temperature differences.

  • for NLGI 00 grease recomended working temperature is between -30°C and -10°C
  • for NLGI 0 grease recomended working temperature is between -10°C and 0°C
  • for NLGI 1 grease recomended working temperature is between 0°C and 10°C
  • for NLGI 2 grease recomended working temperature is between 10°C and 30°C
  • for NLGI 3 grease recomended working temperature is 30°C and over

WARNING : Lubricants that will be used in the system must certainly be clean and any foreign materials must not enter while filling.

WARNING : Only LITHIUM based and EP additive greases must be used within system. It is important that the grease that will be used must be resistant to high pressure. Make sure the grease you are using has EP additive.

WARNING : Do not use rubber based grease in system.

WARNING : Do not use grease types with graphite in system.

Keep in mind that the substances of any lubricant are harmful to environment. Their transport and storage require special safety measures be taken.

LUBRICANT TYPE - OIL

ISO viscosity grade between 40 to 220 class oils can be used with ALLFETT electric oil pumps. It is recomended that the oil that will be used in the system should be resistant to higher temperatures, and maintain the viscosity characteristics. Additionally oil should provide lubricant film stability, water resistance and corrosion protection abilities.
